"Jewels take us back to the past, present and the future"
Elisa amaya
Elisa Amaya was born in Medellin, Colombia, she comes from a family of jewelers where the craftsmanship has been passed on for a generation. She graduated with a degree in Fashion and Jewelry Design.
Elisa has lived and studied in New Zealand, United States, and Europe where she was exposed to new design experiences. Later, she moved to Argentina where she worked as jewelry designer and completed post- graduate studies in Strategic Management Design. After returning home, she started to design and produce her own brand name jewelry. All her designs are handmade and reflect her love for jewelry making. Each handcrafted piece has a highly symbolic meaning which she expresses with her work with precious and semi-precious gemstones, and precious metals such as gold and silver.
Brand phylosophy
Elisamaya seeks to resignify the art of jewelry making she has inherited from a long family tradition.
Elisamaya artisanal jewelry utilizes gold and silver which are attached to the gemstones by way of unique designs that seek to create and promote an emotional connection with the customer through form, silhouettes, finishes, a combination of materials, and experimental techniques.
Each collection is born from an artistic and conceptual investigation that generates a personal history. This process results in the production of an individualized piece of jewelry while honoring tradition.
Each jewel created by Elisa tells a story, it starts with a block of material etched by hand work, polished and refined to the final product. Each piece passes through the hands of highly qualified artisans who work on the designer’s prototype giving life to jewels full of exquisite details and high symbolic significance.
Since 2014 Elisa has been crafting all of her jewels in her workshop. Today, she works with a highly qualified team of artisans from Medellin and Eastern Antioquia, who collaborate in her designs following the most strict quality standards and artisanship etiquette.
All raw materials used in the designs originate in Colombia. Elisamaya makes socially and environmentally conscious decisions when sourcing the materials; gold and silver are 100 percent recycled, and the emeralds and diamonds are from mines free of violence.
